A 30-day free trial version of Neatdesk Twain Driver for Mac is available, but it costs $29.99 for the full version. The program downloads quickly but despite having its Neatdesk Twain Driver installer, proved difficult to set up. We had to try the installation several times due to the program claiming it could not install while it was open. This was a strange error since the installer was the only version of it running at the time. Ergonis Software offers support by e-mail, but we didn't try this. As for the program itself, the only evidence that it was running was a small icon at the top of the Mac screen. Neatdesk Twain Driver the icon brought up a keyboard Neatdesk Twain Driver list, but any additional functions were not obvious. Instructions would have been helpful since any additional features were not apparent from cycling through the options.
We activated Neatdesk Twain Driver by pressing and holding the Caps Lock. Next we pressed the Up and Left arrows simultaneously, sending the cursor flying diagonally across our Neatdesk Twain Driver. Pressing the Right arrow moved the cursor right, and pressing either Up or Down would send the cursor swooping up or down. It's a bit different from mousing, but we think most users will get the hang of it easily enough. It helps that it's fun to do.
